Fast Mechanical Plus is seeking an experienced Controls Contractor / BAS Installer to work on commercial, institutional, and industrial mechanical projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario.

Current and upcoming projects are located in:

- Borden
- Cambridge
- St. Catharines
- London
- Hamilton
- Brampton
- Toronto
- Pickering
- Durham Region
- Barrie

Applicants must be willing and able to travel to these project locations as required. The successful contractor will be responsible for installing, wiring, programming, testing, and commissioning HVAC control systems and Building Automation Systems. We are looking for someone who can work independently, coordinate effectively with our mechanical team, and complete assigned projects according to approved drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

- Install HVAC controls and Building Automation System components.
- Install control panels, controllers, sensors, thermostats, actuators, relays, transformers, and other control devices.
- Complete low-voltage control wiring, terminations, and panel connections.
- Program and configure controllers and control sequences.
- Perform point-to-point testing and system verification.
- Assist with equipment start-up, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Integrate boilers, pumps, air-handling units, rooftop units, VAV boxes, unit ventilators, exhaust fans, and other HVAC equipment.
- Review mechanical drawings, control schematics, sequences of operation, specifications, and equipment submittals.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, testing and balancing, commissioning, and general contractors.
- Prepare control shop drawings, wiring diagrams, points lists, equipment submittals, and closeout documentation when required.
- Identify deficiencies and provide clear reports, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Complete all work safely and within the required project schedule.
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with project managers and site supervisors when required.

Qualifications




- Previous experience installing and commissioning commercial HVAC control systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
- Experience with BAS communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequences of operation.
- Experience with control programming, troubleshooting, system integration, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring and control-panel installation.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with site supervisors, project managers, consultants, and other trades.
- Must have your own tools, transportation, and required personal protective equipment.
- Must be available to travel to project locations throughout the GTA and Southern Ontario.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
- Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications are preferred.
- Experience with Honeywell, Alerton, Delta Controls, Johnson Controls, Distech, Schneider Electric, Reliable Controls, or equivalent systems is considered an asset.
