Currently involved in some of Canada’s largest infrastructure projects, ACCIONA delivers solutions that contribute to the economic and social progress of the communities in which it operates. www.acciona.ca The Cost Controller plays a key role in providing analytical support and insight into both Operations and Accounting. This individual will be involved in the financial close process, analysis and internal reporting of the financial and operational results. On-site Spallumcheen, BC

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the cost control function to drive financial efficiency

Oversee and analyze variances to earned value and budget reports and provide explanation

Development and delivery of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard

Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting process





Partner strategically with Operations and Finance Manager to identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance operational efficiency while mitigating risks

Support other finance team members with review of the accruals and the month-end close

Partner with Finance Team to standardize and improve accounting processes and monthly reporting

Prepare job costing reports and PO reports and identify existing or potential issues

Conduct in-depth cost analysis of completed projects and deliver insightful lessons-learned reports

Work closely with Finance Manager to develop monthly operational reporting

Evaluating business processes to uncover areas for improvements and work with a team to develop and implement solutions

Assemble presentations and effectively present message to various levels of the organization

Other projects as assigned

Salary Range $105,000 - $110,000

Eligibility to Work in Canada

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and throughout their employment. Required Skills and Competencies

Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) considered and asset

Prior cost control experience in road maintenance, or infrastructure industry considered an asset

5+ years in an analytical role

Independent worker, driven achiver

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to suggest alternatives or challenge assumptions to explore opportunities to exceed plans

Solid understanding of financial reporting principles and cost accounting

Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of Power BI and Explore and asset
