Position Summary The Cultivation Technician at Vision Greens Inc. is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a hydroponic vertical farming facility. This role involves plant care, system maintenance and cleaning, harvesting, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working efficiently in a controlled environment agriculture setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the seeding, transplanting (by hand and/or transplanter), harvesting of crops grown, etc. in hydroponic vertical systems

- Loading and unloading the plants into and/or from the vertical growing systems

- Monitor plant health and report any signs of pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies

- Maintain and clean hydroponic systems, including trays, reservoirs, irrigation lines, etc.

- Prepare and mix nutrient solutions according to established guidelines

- Maintain cleanliness and organization to meet food safety regulations

- Record data related to plant growth, yields, and system performance as required

- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

- Wear and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

- Perform other tasks as required and assigned

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Previous experience in agriculture, greenhouse work, or hydroponics is an asset

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

- Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)

- Team-oriented with good communication skills

Working Conditions

- Indoor, climate controlled vertical farming workplace

- Exposure to humidity, water, and artificial lighting systems

- Wet floor conditions may be present; adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate footwear is required

- Mandatory use of PPE based on task and environment as assigned by the company

- May require weekend or shift work depending on production schedules

Pay: $18.50 per hour
