OLI uses dance to empower students to stay in school, build confidence, and celebrate cultural expression.Position SummaryThe Junior Program Manager (JPM)is the heart of day-to-day program delivery for OLI’s community-based dance education program in Indigenous communities. This role blends two halves of the same job: a remote coordination role that keeps every assigned community resourced, monitored, and on schedule, combined with frequent travel to deliver program launches, mid-year check-ins coordinating youth, volunteers, and local teams. The JPM also attends OLI’s Annual Camp & Showcase for a 2 week period away from home base.JPMs are the daily contact for part‑time choreographers and the connective tissue between communities and the wider program team. This role is ideal for an emerging leader seeking hands-on experience in program delivery, logistics, and community engagement that shares OLI's commitment to empowering Indigenous youth through culturally grounded, arts-based education.Key ResponsibilitiesRemote Program CoordinationServe as the primary daily contact for choreographers in assigned communities.Lead weekly community touchpoints and track program delivery against milestones.Manage remote program administration: registrations, participant survey process, attendance and academic performance tracking, report cards, and progress reports.Coordinate programming logistics:
accommodations for travel, student rehearsal schedules, and youth transportation.In-Community Delivery & TravelTravel to assigned communities for launch, mid-year check-in, program delivery support, and for OLI’s Annual Camp & Showcase delivery.Deliver on‑ground program phases: volunteer and principal orientations, parent/guardian presentations, assessments, and culminating project support.Support engagement with education leadership while in the community.Help gather program-relatedcommunity stories and media content in collaboration with OLI program coordinators.Travel OperationsBook travel for assigned staff and support travel-delay troubleshooting as part of a shared on‑call rotation.People & WellbeingSupervise part‑time staff in assigned communities, including onboarding, guidance, and time tracking.Support the professional growth of coordinators and OLI alumni junior staff.Serve as the first point of contact for participant well‑being concerns raised in the community, with training and explicit protocols provided.QualificationsRequired2-4 years of experience in program or project coordination, community engagement, or youth programming.Strong organizational and administrative skills: tracking, reporting, documentation, and logistics.Ability to travel frequently to remote communities across Canada, including multi‑day trips.Experience working with youth; experience with Indigenous communities strongly valued.Clear communicator able to work with volunteers, families, educators, and part‑time staff.Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.PreferredExperience supervising or mentoring part‑time staff or volunteers.Familiarity with survey tools, data tracking, and reporting workflows.First Aid / Mental Health First Aid certification.We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) and those with lived experience in Indigenous communities.Application Deadline:Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
