Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and monitoring Canadian customs entries while ensuring full compliance with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) regulations. This role requires strong technical customs knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple import shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit Canadian customs entries and import declarations accurately and within required timelines.

Process and monitor daily customs entries, Customs Coding Forms (CCFs), and all related import documentation.

Ensure compliance with CBSA regulations, customs legislation, and client-specific requirements.

Classify goods using the Canadian Customs Tariff and Harmonized System (HS) codes.

Calculate applicable duties, GST/HST, and other import taxes.

Prepare and submit CBSA adjustments, corrections, drawback claims, and refund requests.

Onboard Non-Resident Importers (NRIs), including Business Number (BN) registration and CARM portal setup.

Review shipping and commercial documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Coordinate with clients, carriers, government agencies, and internal operations teams to resolve customs-related issues.

Maintain accurate shipment records and customs documentation within CargoWise.

Monitor shipment status and proactively address customs clearance delays.

Stay current with CBSA regulations, customs legislation, and industry best practices.

Support continuous process improvements to ensure efficient customs operations.

Minimum Requirements





Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Canadian customs entry filing.

Strong knowledge of CBSA regulations, tariff classification, HS code classification, and customs compliance requirements.

Experience onboarding Non-Resident Importers (NRI), including Business Number (BN) registration and CARM portal setup.

CargoWise (WiseTech) knowledge is required.

Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation is required.

Experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting daily Canadian customs entries and import declarations.

Ability to load, process, and monitor daily customs entries accurately and within required timelines, including Customs Coding Forms (CCFs) and related import documentation.

Knowledge of the Canadian Customs Tariff, duty rates, GST/HST, and tax calculations.

Experience preparing and submitting CBSA adjustments, corrections, drawback claims, and refund requests.

Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification is considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients, carriers, and internal operations teams.

Additional language skills are considered an asset (e.g., French or Mandarin).

Experience working within a customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics environment.

Knowledge of air, ocean, and ground import processes.
