We are currently looking for an outstanding individual to join our fast‑paced and rapidly growing Finance organization as Director, Fund Operations in Toronto. This person will play a pivotal role in helping us scale our platform and deliver exceptional investor and management services across our global ecosystem. CAD$170,000 to CAD$200,000.
Manage the finance team handling healthcare royalties and certain credit strategies, while advising on departmental responsibilities. Supervise fund accounting activities, including journal entries, management fees, investments, accruals,
and bank reconciliations. Coordinate year‑end audits and regulatory requirements, and handle capital call notices, carried interest calculations, and rebalancing schedules.
Lead recruitment, coaching, and development of the finance team in collaboration with HR. Manage relationships with service providers including fund administrators, banks, auditors, and advisers. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee special projects, and handle ad‑hoc data requests for internal teams. 10+ years of relevant managerial, fund operations, and administration experience, preferably with private funds.
Experience in an asset management firm; exposure to audit, tax accounting, FATCA/CRS reporting, SLFI reporting, and level 3 valuation of investments is an asset. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CA/CPA certification with specialization in IFRS is an asset.
Strong management skills with a track record of team leadership, employee coaching, and development. Excellent written and spoken English required. Sagard is an equal chance employer which values diversity in the workplace.
