DEPARTMENT: MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES - ADDICTION TREATMENT SERVICESPOSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUNDUNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU SERVICESTATUS: FULL-TIMEREASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENTWAGE RATE: $29.184-30.367Reporting to the Manager, Addiction Services, the Withdrawal Management Services Program Worker (WMS – Program Worker) is responsible for ensuring that residents receive quality care in a therapeutic workplace. Key responsibilities include assessment (appropriateness for admission, and treatment needs), client history, developing treatment plans, documenting progress and activities of clients, supporting clients in accessing in house addiction programs and local resources, and contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the unit. Program Workers use a variety of principles, theory and practical applications to deliver addictions treatment services in support of the clients’ recovery process.Skills/Abilities/QualificationsTwo-year post-secondary diploma in a Health or Human Services Program, complimented by addiction studiesRecent experience in an addictions treatment or supportive treatment settingExtensive working knowledge of addictions treatment systems, concurrent disorders, self-help programs and related community resourcesKnowledge of the principles,
