WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Clinical Research Scientist II - Delivery Sciences, Scientific team, full‑time and permanent. Position based in Liberty Village, Toronto, on‑site 5‑days a week. Candidates must be proficient with designing experiments for HPLC, UPLC, and Franz Diffusion.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary by geographic location.

WHAT YOU'RE DOING IN THIS ROLE

- Design, execute, and evaluate IVPT and IVRT studies using Franz diffusion cells, ex vivo tissue, and artificial membrane‑based models to understand active penetration and release rates of various treatments.
- Develop, optimize, and validate robust analytical separation methods (HPLC/UPLC, LC‑MS, etc.) to quantify and characterize active ingredients, demonstrating proficiency in Empower 3 software for data acquisition and processing.
- Understand and anticipate emerging analytical techniques and technologies to bring novelty in methods and understanding of the skin.




- Scour relevant scientific literature and routinely incorporate new insights into research activities.
- Identify and validate new third‑party labs for outsourcing product testing, and work closely with existing third‑party labs to carry out tests that might not be feasible in‑house.
- Support daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, supply ordering, and coordinating shipments of materials or samples.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the timely resolution of analytical issues or gaps.
- Ensure all analytical activities adhere to GMP and GDP standards with strong documentation practices.
- Write, review, and approve SOPs and work instructions related to analytical procedures and laboratory operations.
- Lead or participate in quality event investigations (planned and unplanned), recommending effective corrective and preventive actions.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with 2 years of industry experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Robust understanding of clinical lab practices and skin science.
- Proven ability to effectively and independently design and plan experiments, prioritize tasks, and critically evaluate results under compressed timelines.




- Ability to apply standard scientific principles and make sound scientific judgments within the scope of the role.
- Excellent GMP documentation, organizational skills, and rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
