This full-time, permanent position reports to the City Manager, offering strategic leadership across community programs, recreation, parks, library services, and homelessness initiatives. As a key member of the Senior Management Committee, you will oversee a team of four direct reports and approximately 57 indirect reports. Your strategic influence will help shape service delivery that responds to community evolution and public needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set strategic direction aligning with Council priorities
- Strengthen accountability, performance measurement, and long-term planning
- Guide budgeting and financial stewardship for the department
- Build management capacity and support employee development
- Foster relationships with community partners and Indigenous communities
Requirements:
- Relevant university degree required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience
- Background in public-facing services or municipal government
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Experience with multidisciplinary teams and collaboration
