We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant who demonstrates genuine love, patience, and respect for children. The ideal candidate is attentive to children’s developmental needs and interests and uses observation to plan meaningful, engaging learning experiences. This educator is committed to nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning in every child.
The Early Childhood Educator supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through intentional teaching practices and a warm, nurturing classroom environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports both individual and group needs
- Observe, assess, and document children’s strengths, interests, and developmental progress to guide planning and instruction
- Plan and implement individual, small-group, and large-group activities and lessons
- Support learning across all developmental areas, including social-emotional development, language and literacy, early math concepts, creative expression, and physical development
- Identify, select, and adapt classroom activities to meet the needs of children with diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities, including children with special needs
- Model positive behavior, kindness, and respectful communication
- Encourage independence, problem-solving, and self-help skills
- Support children’s ability to focus and engage without unnecessary interruption
- Promote responsibility and care for the classroom environment and personal belongings
- Follow Positive Behavior Guidance practices in accordance with school policies
- Conduct parent–teacher conferences and maintain consistent, open communication with families
- Build and sustain positive, cooperative relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Participate in parent workshops, school events, and program activities
- Support children with diapering and/or toileting routines while maintaining dignity and respect
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain the classroom environment, materials, and equipment
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and licensing regulations
- Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
- Welcome children warmly each day and focus on building strong, trusting relationships
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills through ongoing education and participation in professional development opportunities
Education
Early Childhood Assistant
Mandatory Requirements
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
Updated Immunization
Current TB Screening
Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector)
Immediate Availability
Full-time hours: 40 Hours per week
Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
