The aim of the Wilp D’Mootxw – Nec’a Yikh “The Healing House” is to improve access to primary health care services and traditional wellness services for First Nations people in a way that is culturally safe and closer to home.

Position Details

Title: Dietitian, Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en Primary Care Centre

Salary: $99,899 to $117,528 to $135,158 per year

Contract: Term position ending 3/31/2028 with possibility of extension; thereafter permanent role with The Healing House.

Hours: Standard hours – 37.5 hours per week

Location: Hazelton, BC

About The Role

The Wilp D’Mootxw – Nec’a Yikh “The Healing House” Primary Care Centre is envisioned to work as part of a strategic integrated system within a culturally safe model that integrates family and community supports consistent with a no barriers to care model. The centre is enriched with the traditions and culture of the Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en communities in a warm and welcoming space, working in harmony with existing health services and no barriers to care.

About You

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition (or equivalent) and a Dietetic Internship, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Occupational Certification

- Current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.




- A valid BC driver’s license.
- 3-5 years recent related experience or equivalent combination of education.

Experience

- Knowledge of theories, principles, concepts, and practices in the fields of nutrition, pre‑and postnatal health.
- In‑depth knowledge of traditional foods (whole foods) important for personal health, wellbeing and cultural identity.
- Computer literacy, particularly with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

The pay range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience. The top 10% of the pay range is for incumbents who are industry experts with exceptional experience and competencies.
