General Manager for AEThermal Solutions, providing heating solutions using ultra thin materials

Engineering Product Manager to lead the strategy, technical development, and full lifecycle of engineered electromechanical products—from concept through commercialization. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional engineer who excels at bridging design engineering, manufacturing, and product strategy. As the technical owner of the product line, you will ensure solutions meet engineering performance targets, cost objectives, manufacturability standards, and customer expectations.

This is a hands‑on role with significant engineering depth, cross‑functional responsibility, and global supplier interaction. AEThermal Solutions is a division of Hex Heat Discrete providing engineering services for in‑floor heating solutions. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area.

You will manage the development and lifecycle of products, define roadmaps, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and align product development with company objectives. Daily tasks include gathering requirements, prioritizing features, overseeing design and engineering teams, and monitoring product performance in the market. You will also identify opportunities for product enhancement and address customer needs.

Product

Design & Technical Development Lead product requirements, engineering specifications, and technical roadmaps. Oversee concept development, prototypes, testing, validation, and release. Create technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.

Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, heat transfer calculations, and energy modeling. Select materials for heating elements based on mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Integrate control systems (thermostats, PLCs, sensors) to ensure accurate temperature regulation.

Review manufacturing KPIs including quality, cost,



throughput, and delivery. Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.

Project Management

Lead project planning, scheduling, resourcing, and execution. Manage risks, milestones, budgets, and stakeholder communication. Ensure timely handoff of engineering deliverables and validation milestones.

Professional Engineering Responsibilities

Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and industry compliance standards. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams. Translate technical requirements into executable plans across internal and external teams. Support product launches, technical reviews, and manufacturing builds. Safety & Quality apply APQP methods, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and PFDs. Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience with resistance heating systems. Knowledge of carbon fiber paper (CFP), carbon/graphite materials, and related manufacturing processes. Familiarity with high‑temperature materials and insulation methods.

Background in thermal engineering, energy storage, or renewable energy integration.

Experience with project management software and structured methodologies.

Capable of reading and using engineering drawings.

Experience with PDM systems and engineering document control. Ability to develop DFMEAs, validation plans, and testing documentation. Strategic thinker with robust technical depth and problem‑solving capability.

On‑site position located in City of Langley, BC, working closely with engineering teams and laboratory environments.
