Job Overview

We are seeking a energetic and skilled Excavator Mulcher Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will operate heavy machinery, specifically excavators equipped with mulching attachments, to clear land, manage vegetation, and prepare sites for development projects. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progression while maintaining safety standards and environmental considerations.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators fitted with mulching attachments to efficiently clear brush, trees, and other vegetation on various terrains.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers and crew members to execute land clearing plans according to specifications and timelines.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Assist with other heavy equipment operations such as dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, or paving machinery when required.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment),



to protect yourself and team members during operations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections for project documentation.

Experience

- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or land management environment.
- Familiarity with mulching attachments and their operation is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers.
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and environmental regulations related to vegetation management.
- Ability to operate additional equipment including horizontal drills, graders, or paving machines is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification is preferred for transporting equipment between sites.
