This position is primarily responsible for delivering ready‑mix concrete and other associated products to construction jobsites and residential areas. Drivers may be called upon to work extensive overtime as business and weather conditions warrant.ResponsibilitiesInspect the truck including checking fluids such as oil and antifreeze before starting in the morning in accordance with pre‑trip inspection reportsFill truck with water by placing rubber hose in tank and prepare drum for concreteAdd fibres or other products as directedCheck slumps and mix of concreteDrive truck in safe manner to jobs arriving with desired slumpBackup or pulls into jobsites. Must be able to maneuver truck in uneven and poor terrainPlace chutes from fender to main chute on rear of truckGets tickets signed and assures they have all jobsite information that is neededWashes truck with hoses and brush in designated area per contractorsCommunicates with dispatcher through radio that they are returning to plant. Adds various ingredients to load such as fibers, cement, and admixturesCompletes all paperwork including notes on times, problems on job and water added.Refuels truck every evening and performs walk around post inspectionMay be called on to perform other tasks as decided by supervisors.Occasionally may utilize chipper to clean buildup of concrete in drum.
