Pho By Night is a 25+ year-old family-run Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Ottawa’s ByWard Market. We’re known for our authentic pho, warm hospitality, and hard-working kitchen team. Role Summary

We’re looking for an Experience Cook/ Line Cook who can hold their own during a dinner rush and work side by side with our head chef and “auntie crew.” You’ll be responsible for prepping, cooking, and plating dishes with speed, precision, and pride. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow in a busy kitchen and learn Southeast Asian cuisine hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
- Set up and maintain prep stations and line area
- Keep your station clean, stocked, and organized at all times
- Support the team during high-volume service
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Maintain proper inventory rotation (FIFO) and assist with stock management
- Assist with daily prep, including potential prep shifts before opening
- Perform end-of-shift sanitation and closing duties to keep the kitchen spotless
- Communicate clearly with FOH and BOH teams to keep service smooth
- Uphold a positive, respectful, and team-first kitchen culture





What We’re Looking For

- 1+ year of kitchen or line cook experience (high-volume preferred)
- Knowledge of Asian cuisine is a plus — willingness to learn is a must
- Fast, clean, and consistent in prep and plating
- Physically capable (on your feet 6–8 hrs, lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Calm under pressure, team player attitude
- Comfortable working with multi-generational staff
- Takes initiative and cleans as they go

Schedule & Availability

- Must be available evenings and weekends
- May include prep shifts before opening
- Punctuality and reliability are key
