Role Description The Manager, Events and Facility Rentals is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB, responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning and facility rental operations at the museum. This role manages the end-to-end coordination of internal and external events, including scheduling, logistics, vendor relationships, and on-the-day execution to ensure a high-quality experience for guests and clients. The manager develops and promotes rental packages, collaborates with marketing and visitor services to attract new clients, and ensures all events align with the museum’s brand, policies, and safety standards. Daily tasks include responding to booking inquiries,



preparing proposals and contracts, managing budgets and revenue targets, supervising event support staff, and monitoring the condition and readiness of rental spaces. The role also involves continuous improvement of event processes, gathering client feedback, and contributing to strategic planning for events and facility usage.
Qualifications

- Experience in event management, including planning, coordination, and on-site execution of corporate, community, and private events.
- Skills in client relationship management, customer service, and stakeholder communication to support a positive visitor and client experience.
- Proficiency in budgeting, revenue tracking, and basic financial reporting related to events and facility rentals.
- Ability to oversee logistics, scheduling, and vendor coordination, ensuring efficient use of museum spaces and resources.
- Leadership experience managing staff or volunteers, including training, scheduling, and performance support.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple events and deadlines.
- Comfort working on-site in a public-facing setting, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work as required.
- Experience in cultural institutions, hospitality, tourism, or related sectors is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in event management, hospitality, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
