Full‑Time Contract Direct Care Professional – Accommodation Program (O'Brien House)

Empower Simcoe is seeking an innovative, passionate, and dedicated employee to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in our Accommodation Program. The contract position is up to one year, with the possibility of extension.

Compensation

- Work up to 72 hours biweekly
- Minimum starting rate of $25.66 per hour
- 11 paid statutory holidays
- Employer‑paid Confidential Employee Assistance Program for you and your family members

Minimum Requirements

- Certificate from an accredited educational facility in the area of elder care, health care or social services
- Previous experience working with independent elder population; geriatric experience is also an asset
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experience are required
- A current transparent criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, valid “Class G” driver’s license and reliable transportation are required

Duties





- Administering and assisting with routine medication dispensing and treatment procedures to meet the personal needs and comfort of individuals and accurately maintaining appropriate records
- Providing the highest level of personal care and attention to individuals, following individual support plans and ensuring that all contact is respectful and supportive
- Liaising with other care professionals relating to the care needs of individuals
- Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, preparing and serving meals and drinks as required
- Being an active and encouraging member of the support team; contributing to team meetings
