: General Hand / Cleaner

About the Role

Eligant Group Inc. is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious General Hand / Cleaner to support the daily operation of our manufacturing facility and office. This role combines facility cleaning, general maintenance, and operational support to ensure a clean, safe, and professional working environment for employees and visitors.

The successful candidate will be proactive, physically fit, organized, and willing to perform a variety of tasks as business needs require.

Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Housekeeping

- Clean and sanitize offices, lunchrooms, washrooms, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces including door handles, railings, switches, countertops, and shared equipment.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
- Operate floor scrubbing equipment safely and effectively.
- Empty garbage bins and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Remove waste bags and transport heavy waste to designated external disposal areas.
- Assist with curbside waste placement on scheduled collection days.
- Replenish soap dispensers, paper towels, toilet tissue, and other washroom and breakroom supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the workday.

General Facility Support
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving incoming materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform minor building maintenance tasks such as:
- Replacing light bulbs
- Clearing minor drain blockages
- Tightening loose screws, handles, and fixtures
- Keep building entrances, walkways, and exterior areas clean and free of debris.
- Remove snow, ice, and other hazards from entrances during winter months as required.




- Run errands and transport supplies both within the facility and to nearby locations when required.
- Prepare offices, meeting rooms, lunchrooms, and work areas before the start of each workday.
- Welcome and direct visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel to the appropriate location.

Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Safely handle, mix, and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manufacturer instructions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete daily cleaning checklists and facility inspection records.
- Conduct end-of-day checks to ensure lights are switched off where appropriate, doors are secured, and the facility is left in a safe condition.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, manufacturing, or general labour is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
