Island Health is looking for a full time Cardiologist to enhance cardiac services at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. This role is pivotal in launching a Heart Health Division within the thriving Division of Cardiology.
As a Cardiologist, you'll collaborate with a skilled team, providing acute consultations and interpreting key diagnostic tests. You’ll also supervise nuclear imaging, lead rapid assessments, and ensure follow-ups with patients, directly impacting cardiac health in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide acute cardiac consultations within the hospital
• Interpret echocardiograms, Holter, and ECG studies
• Oversee nuclear perfusion imaging
• Conduct rapid cardiac assessment clinics for patients
• Perform routine follow-ups and administrative responsibilities
Requirements:
• FRCPC Cardiology designation or eligibility required
• Licensure eligibility with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
• Preferred experience in a coronary care unit
• Eligibility for provisional CPSBC licensure is necessary
