Overview

Humberside Montessori School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 7 & 8 French Teacher to inspire students in their language learning journey. Duties

- Design and deliver dynamic French language lessons tailored to Grade 7 and 8 curriculum standards, ensuring clarity and student engagement
- Develop creative instructional materials that incorporate multimedia tools and technology to enhance language acquisition
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and oral examinations; provide constructive feedback to support improvement
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, respect, and cultural appreciation
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and participate in school events that promote bilingualism and multicultural understanding
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student achievements using Microsoft Office tools
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or assistance with disabilities

Requirements

- Fluency in both English and French,



with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Prior classroom experience teaching middle school students or working with children in an educational setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities efficiently
- Assessing student progress and providing regular feedback (twice a year – progress report in November, final report in June)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and basic computer skills for lesson preparation and record keeping
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Excellent time management skills to balance lesson planning, grading, and student engagement effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, colleagues, and administration to foster a collaborative educational environment
- An understanding of, or interest in, Montessori education

Preferred qualifications:

- Montessori training or experience
- OCT certification or equivalent teaching experience
