When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.General AccountabilityThis position is responsible for assisting with client bottle orders and to assist with the receiving and organizing of the returned samples for shipping to Vancouver.Specific ResponsibilitiesGeneral duties to support client requested supplies and shipping of samplesOrganize workload to client supply requestsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentfollow ALS Safety Manual and policiesWork in a team environmentPosition is for Monday to Friday day shift coverage to extend the usual 9-5 office hours, but evening or weekend shifts may be required as needed to serve our customersPrepare samples for shipment and complete waybillsDeliver shipments to the airport and/or supplies to client offices, as neededData entry into computer software (LIMS system) for shipping ordersParticipate in weekly rotation of janitorial duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage, and cleaning the bathroomOther duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Supervisor or ManagerRequired Knowledge, Skills & AbilityGood English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, writing, and reading)Basic user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident with computersAbility to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environmentWell organized with attention to detail and proven ability to meet strict deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as requiredCommitment to excellence and a client-focused attitudeRequired QualificationsCompletion of high school diploma or equivalent preferredSome experience working in a warehouse or fast-paced setting is an assetSome customer service experience is an assetValid provincial Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driving recordKnowledge from high school science courses and/or basic lab safety is an assetPhysical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs./23 kg on a regular basis and carry for short distancesExtensive walking or movement, bending, and kneeling for a full shiftManual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasksWear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when requiredOur benefits includeAn estimated hourly pay of $22.30 CAD at the time of posting.Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.Comprehensive benefit package specific to your work status (including extended medical, dental, and vision coverage, access to company perks, life and disability insurance, retirement plan with company match, employee assistance and wellness programs)Additional vacation days for years of serviceBusiness support for education or training after 9 months with the companyLearning & development opportunities (unlimited access to e-learnings and more)Please note: Benefits vary based on employee status.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
