A growing real estate practice at a well-established, full-service business law firm in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of transactions, including commercial and industrial purchases and sales, secured lending for both lenders and borrowers, and condominium and subdivision development projects from start to finish.ResponsibilitiesIndependently draft a variety of documentation, including purchase and sale closing documents, mortgage security documents, related agreements, opinions, requisitions, undertakings, correspondence, and reportsPrioritize and monitor the various components of a transaction with minimal supervision, ensuring critical deadlines are identified and metCommunicate effectively with clients, other law firms, and government departments throughout each stage of a transactionPrepare, review, and evaluate title and off-title due diligence, including due diligence memos and title search summariesPrepare documents on Teraview, including transfers, charges, discharges, applications, easements,
and noticesReview and evaluate purchase and sale agreements and lending commitment lettersOrder and process title insurance policiesCalculate, draft, and analyze statements of adjustments, trust ledgers, and advance statements, and manage receipt and disbursement of trust funds in compliance with regulatory reporting obligationsSupport condominium and subdivision development files from initial stages through completionQualificationsMinimum 3-5 years of real estate law clerk experience gained in a law firm or in-house workplace in OntarioCompletion of a Law Clerk Diploma required; undergraduate degree anassetHands‑on experience with condominium and subdivision development transactions is requiredExperience with commercial purchases and sales and secured lendingExperience with title rectification work considered an assetStrong understanding of the structure of a real estate transactionExcellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills, both written and oralAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing as part of a teamProficient in Teraview and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook#J-18808-Ljbffr
