Kickstart your career as a Health Care Support Worker through Northern Health’s comprehensive training program. Receive a stipend of $24.80 per hour while studying to become certified over 10.5 months. This program offers hands-on experience and essential knowledge needed for Health Care Assistant certification at a recognized college.
Throughout your studies, you will receive financial support and must complete a Criminal Record Check, along with timely college admission steps. Classes may be online or in person, with potential evening or weekend scheduling. Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in all required classes
- Complete clinical and practicum components as directed
- Register with the BC Care Aide/Community Health Worker Registry
- Sign a 12-month Return of Service agreement upon completing the program
- Manage adaptable class schedules as set by the college
Requirements:
- Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency required
- Must have a reliable laptop and internet for online components
- Complete a Criminal Record Check successfully
- Pass English proficiency test if necessary
- Unemployment as a Health Care Aide previously
