Key Responsibilities

Health Information Management:

Oversee the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of patient health records while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal healthcare regulations.

Department Operations:

Coordinate daily Health Information Management activities, monitor productivity, improve workflows, and support efficient departmental performance.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, coach, and mentor Health Information staff, conduct performance reviews, and promote a collaborative and service-focused work environment.





Compliance and Quality Improvement:

Perform regular documentation audits, maintain health record quality standards, support accreditation activities, and ensure compliance with privacy legislation and hospital policies.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

Partner with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative teams to improve clinical documentation, information accuracy, and patient record management.

Reporting and Data Management:

Prepare operational reports, monitor key performance indicators, and support data-driven initiatives that improve healthcare services and organizational performance.

What We Are Looking For

Experience:

4 to 6 years of experience in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Health Information Services, or a related healthcare field, including 1 to 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.

Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, Health Informatics, or a related discipline. Professional certification such as CHIMA certification is considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

Experience using Electronic Health Record systems, health information databases, Microsoft Office applications, and healthcare documentation standards.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Canadian health information management practices, privacy legislation, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation requirements.

Communication Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Mindset:

You are organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of data quality, patient confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in healthcare information management.

Pay: $5,339.00-$6,294.00 per month
