The Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is a non‑profit potato grower organization that aims to increase the success of the potato growing industry in Alberta. To accomplish this, the PGA works on three fronts: education and extension, promotion, and research. The PGA is the voice of the potato industry in Alberta.

Communications Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to ensure that PGA maintains a positive brand image while fostering meaningful connections with members, partners, and the public.

Responsibilities - Strategic Communications &

• Brand Management - Social Media &

• Website Management including Content Development &

• Engagement - Newsletter Creation &

• Other Written Correspondence for Member Group - Collection &

• Distribution of News, Events, and Updates Relevant to Growers, Consumers, &

• Industry Partners - Stakeholder &

• Media Relations - Subscription/Application Management - Creation of Ongoing Photos &

• Videos for use both Online and in Print - Assisting with Promotional Materials for Public Education &

• Outreach - Other Duties as Required Requirements - Team-Orientated with Excellent Interpersonal Skills - Excellent Written &





• Verbal Communication Skills with Strong Attention to Detail &

• Accuracy - Graphic Design &

• Video Editing Experience - Technically Savvy with a Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Apps, and all Social Media Platforms - A Desire to Present the Message of the Organization to the Members and the Public - Creative with an Eye for Detail while being Deadline Focused &
