The opportunity:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR Manager, helping ensure our people processes run smoothly and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their HR career who is eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful contribution to an organization of approximately 145 employees.

You will play a key role in keeping our HR function organized and responsive,



freeing up space for the HR Manager to focus on strategic priorities while ensuring employees receive timely, accurate support.

Your main responsibilities and major duties:

Key Responsibilities / Duties

- Support the configuration and setup of HRIS system [specific modules — recruitment, performance etc.] during the organization's platform transition.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings related to the HR platform transition (implementation calls, training sessions, stakeholder check-ins)
- Help develop and deliver training materials/sessions for staff on the current HRIS system
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR processes and the HRIS transition, escalating complex issues as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the Manager of Culture & People (e.g., filing, documentation etc.)
- Maintain accurate and organized records of HR system setup progress, decisions, and documentation
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR inquiries, escalating complex matters to the HR Manager
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communication efforts
- Support compliance reporting and administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files (physical and digital)
- Enter and update employee data in the HRIS system
- Track probationary periods, performance review cycles, and key HR dates
- Prepare HR reports, letters, and correspondence as needed

Qualifications / Skills





- Experience with HRIS platforms; familiarity with ADP specifically is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Comfortable troubleshooting new software systems and documenting processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (for employee-facing inquiries and training support)
- Discretion in handling confidential employee information
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (diploma or degree)
- Experience in a non-profit, standalone or small HR team environment

Salary: $20 per hour

Hours of Work: 20 hours per week
