To apply to this posting, click on the “Apply” icon.Please submit your resume and cover letter in one file (PDF or Word) and upload using only the ‘Resume’ features within the application prior to 11:59 pm onFebruary 1, 2026.By working at TRCA you will:Work outdoors during the spring and summer in beautiful natural areas.Gain valuable experience working at a conservation authority.Get access to TRCA’s Reciprocal Program (discounts across various Ontario attractions).How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:The Camp Counsellor is responsible for the supervision of campers and the delivery of interactive programs and activities of camps for various age groups within TRCA’s portfolio of facilities and sites.Major Responsibilities:Develops and leads camp activitiesLeads interactive and engaging camp programs for summer camp groups of all ages and abilitiesProvides supervision of campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidentsCoordinates the daily preparation and clean-up of camp programs, ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipmentReports and records any incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to senior camp staffWhat will you need to succeed:Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)High school diplomaSuccessful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening. Employees/candidates under the age of eighteen (18) years are not eligible to have a VSS, therefore will not be requiredExperience1+ year of experience working with or volunteering with children in a group settingExperience delivering programs and interactive activitiesBiking experienceKnowledge/Skill/Ability - CompetenciesStrong communication skills to provide transparent and concise communication in both non-emergency and emergency situationsDemonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issuesExcellent organization and time management skillsAbility to work independently and co-operatively as part of a teamKnowledge of natural history or environmentally related disciplines is an assetMust be flexible to work all required shiftsWhile the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) thanks all applicants for their interest, only those under consideration will be contacted for interviews.
