In this role, you will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for residential and commercial mechanical projects, including new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and retrofit work. You'll work closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure projects are priced accurately and set up for success.

What You'll Do

- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Price labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, permits, and other project costs.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare professional proposals and bid packages.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
- Communicate with customers, consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain current pricing, estimating databases, and historical cost information.
- Support project handoffs by providing estimating details and project documentation.
- Assist with change orders, cost analysis, and pricing revisions during construction.

What We're Looking For




- 3+ years of HVAC and/or Plumbing estimating experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, including:

- Heat pumps

- Air conditioning systems

- Gas furnaces

- Rooftop units (RTUs)

- VRF/VRV systems

- Boilers and chillers
- Ventilation and make-up air systems

- Sheet metal ductwork

- Hydronic piping
- Domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction specifications.
- Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with estimating software and digital take-off tools is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
