As part of its continued growth in the power industry and expanded presence in independent engineering (IE) services, BBA is looking to grow the delivery capacity of its Canadian IE team to meet the growing needs of our IPP and developer clients, who rely on our technical reviews, inspections and monitoring as part of their investment decision‑making process.

Consultant and Project Manager

You’ll help deliver projects while supporting business development initiatives to build new client relationships and strengthen existing ones. You’ll deliver independent consulting engineering services, coordinate a multidisciplinary team and prepare independent engineering reviews, lender’s technical advisor reports and technical due diligence assessments. Lead business development and project delivery activities for independent engineering and technical due diligence within BBA’s Power business Coordinate with BBA’s Power business lines (wind, solar, BESS, T&D;, thermal and hydro), sectors (mining and metals, power, energy and chemicals) and business practices to deliver independent, multidisciplinary, multi‑technology reviews and reports Build and leverage solid lender and investor relationships while leading and/or performing independent reviews of utility‑scale wind, solar, energy storage and transmission projects or portfolios for financing, refinancing or M&A; transactions Report to the Director of Independent Engineering Services – Power Assets Engage new clients and secure new accounts With support from management, legal and the commercial team, negotiate and secure contracts Remain informed on BBA’s broader capabilities to support cross‑selling of services Contribute to strategic development of innovative technical differentiation Work alongside and support project delivery from other BBA service offerings,



including those from BBA’s regional operations and national business lines You must be able to travel domestically and internationally to site locations (10–20% travel expectation) Project delivery Perform project management in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, as well as BBA’s policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, quality and project controls, and financial reporting Coordinate activities, and those of the broader project teams, to maintain project schedules and budgets and ensure successful project completion Initiate and coordinate the technical review process among discipline SMEs Perform portions of due diligence reviews, including contract and financial model reviews Coordinate IE‑related construction monitoring, including performance audits Support financial project closing, including reliance matters, lender Q&A;, drawdown certifications and LTA monitoring Develop, train and coordinate others to expand the team’s skills and service offerings Do your qualities and values match our corporate culture?

University degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering Master’s degree or other post‑graduate degrees in engineering and/or business are a plus From 5 to 10 years of experience working within the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, BESS, hydropower) Project management and engagement leadership experience on technical services in project financing, M&A;,



asset sales and refinancing Excellent written and report writing and editing skills MS Office fluency Some knowledge of intermittent energy resource assessment, energy yield forecasting and associated major tools (PV Syst, WaSP, Windfarmer, etc.) Ability to work within focused and multidisciplinary teams and experience in leading teams and projects Must hold a passport, driver’s licence and be able to travel internationally, as needed Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, French) Asset: broader experience in wind energy, solar PV, hydropower, energy storage, microgrid power systems or power conversion systems Asset: familiarity with policies, standards, guidelines, rules and regulations as applicable to North American energy markets as well as other jurisdictions Asset: construction experience Group insurance plan from the first day of employment, including disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Annual vacation and sick leave A corporate culture that values expertise An inclusive culture that values diversity, respect and openness BBA is one of Canada’s leading private consulting engineering firms, with over 45 years of experience serving the energy and natural resources industry.
