Interim Director of Accounting & Reporting

Contract | 100% Remote

Pay range: CA$65.00/hr - CA$85.00/hr

Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an Interim Director of Accounting & Reporting to join their team for an initial 3-month engagement, with a strong possibility of extension.

Role Overview

As the Interim Director of Accounting & Reporting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting under US GAAP. This role requires a balance of review, oversight, and hands‑on execution, particularly in support of year‑end close, audit activities, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and oversee accounting work prepared by team members to ensure US GAAP compliance
- Perform hands‑on accounting work as required, including complex journal entries and reconciliations




- Lead and support year‑end close and audit processes
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements and related reporting
- Provide guidance and direction to the accounting and reporting team in a remote setting

Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on accounting experience, including strong US GAAP expertise
- Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting leadership roles
- Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated in a fully remote setting

Nice to Have
- Background in energy, renewables, or asset‑heavy industries
