Division: Office of the Integrity Commissioner The Office of the Integrity Commissioner strives to encourage a culture of integrityand accountability.The Office is seekingaTeam Lead, Municipal Integrity to carry out and coordinate the Integrity Commissioner’s current responsibilities under the Municipal Act, 2001 and the City of Toronto Act, 2006. This is a new vacancy. What You Will Do Reporting to theDeputy Commissioner, you will act with integrity to: Perform and coordinate the main responsibilities to support the Commissioner’s duties in relation to municipal integrity commissioners and municipal accountability. Develop policies and procedures for the responsibilities of the Municipal Integrity mandate, including the process for receiving a recommendation from a municipal integrity commissioner that the seat of a member of council or of a local board be declared vacant. Receive and analyze inquiries received from municipal integrity commissioners, municipalofficialsand members of the public. In doing so, ensure that adequate information is provided, and internal records aremaintainedappropriately to track the life cycle of the matter. Conduct research and draft correspondence for these matters for approval by the Deputy Commissioner or Commissioner asappropriate. Lead the work toestablisha repository of decisions, reports and legal research related to municipal integrity matters. This would include drafting summaries and preparing briefing and background materials on various sub-topics related to the mandate. Identifytraining topics to develop and deliver content for training sessions for municipal integrity commissioners in coordination with communications and legal staff.
Oversee and coordinate the work of an inquiries officer on all aspects of work, including information gathering, analysis and preparation of draft correspondence and briefing materials. How You Will Qualify In this role, you will need: Completion of university degree or equivalent experience, with knowledge of spelling, grammar, non-standarddocumentationand subject knowledge at the levelrequiredto draft non-routine correspondence and reports, as well as to edit for content and accuracy. Agood understanding of the applicable legislation for all mandate areas within thejurisdictionof the Integrity Commissioner. Agood understanding of policy development, including the ability to draft clear procedures. Excellent analytical skills arerequiredtoassistin the preparation ofaccurateand formative reports, highlighting points of interest, and discrepancies in policy. Strong administrative and organizational skills arerequiredto coordinate and track a wide variety of assignments and activities. Excellent oral and written communication skills arerequiredto formulate and communicate recommended policy interpretations and opinions.
