Role Description The Junior Computational Biologist will support data-driven research projects that bridge AI, data science, and biological insights in a full time, remote role. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing biological and experimental data using statistical and computational methods.

The role involves applying bioinformatics workflows, collaborating with senior team members on research design, and contributing to interpretation and visualization of results.

The Junior Computational Biologist will help prepare documentation, reports, and learning materials that translate complex findings into accessible insights for internal and external stakeholders. This position requires proactive communication in a remote environment and a strong interest in the intersection of AI, data science, and life sciences.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Statistics and Data Analysis for working with experimental and biological datasets.
- Candidates should possess skills in Data Science for building and evaluating models, processing data pipelines, and generating insights.
- Candidates should possess skills in Bioinformatics for handling biological sequences, omics data, and standard computational biology tools.
- Candidates should possess skills in Research for designing experiments, reviewing scientific literature, and documenting methodologies and results.
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in computational biology (such as Python or R) is beneficial.




- Understanding of basic molecular biology, genomics, or related life sciences is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team are important.
- A bachelor’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

Helpful but Not Required
- Previous computational biology or bioinformatics research experience
- Academic laboratory or research-assistant experience
- Experience working with genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic or other omics datasets
- Experience applying machine learning to scientific or biological problems
- Familiarity with AI-assisted life-sciences research tools
- Experience preparing scientific reports, educational content or research presentations
- Publications, conference posters, academic projects or independent research
- Familiarity with cloud computing, containers or GPU-based scientific workflows
- Experience contributing to collaborative software or research projects
