We are a growing and client-focused law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services in the areas of Family Law, Civil Litigation, and Corporate Law. We are seeking a motivated, organized, and client-focused Junior Associate Lawyer to join our team. This is an excellent prospect for a lawyer looking to develop practical advocacy skills, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and build a diverse legal practice while working alongside experienced counsel.

Position Summary The Junior Associate Lawyer will manage and assist with a broad range of legal matters involving family law, civil litigation, and corporate law. The successful candidate will work closely with senior counsel while progressively assuming responsibility for their own files, client relationships, negotiations, and court appearances.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload under the supervision of senior counsel while progressively assuming carriage of files.
- Represent clients in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and other tribunals, as appropriate.
- Attend court appearances, motions, conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and examinations for discovery.
- Draft pleadings, applications, motions, affidavits, factums, legal correspondence, settlement offers, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients and maintain regular communication throughout the progression of their matters.
- Negotiate settlements and resolutions with opposing counsel.
- Prepare evidence, disclosure, affidavits, briefs,



and other litigation materials.
- Assist with corporate transactions, incorporations, corporate reorganizations, annual corporate maintenance, shareholder matters, and commercial agreements.
- Maintain accurate file records, billing entries, and time management in accordance with firm policies.
- Utilize legal technology and practice management software to efficiently manage files.
- Ensure compliance with the Rules of Civil Procedure, Family Law Rules, Law Society of Ontario requirements, and all applicable legislation.
- Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship initiatives.

Qualifications
- Licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 2–3 years of experience in Family Law, Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, or a combination of these practice areas.
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional, ethical, and client-focused approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, legal research platforms,



and legal practice management software. Experience with Clio is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to reliable transportation are considered assets.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
- Experience drafting family law pleadings, civil litigation documents, and corporate records.
- Familiarity with Ontario court filing procedures and electronic filing systems.
- Experience with mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
