The AHN promotes and models leadership competencies by demonstrating good judgement and critical thinking skills, and developing and maintaining strong nursing practice in the designated scope of practice. The AHN fosters team effectiveness, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, communicating effectively and seeking to resolve staff issues.

Knowledge of the role of outreach in effective community care.
Extensive knowledge of community supports and resources necessary and available for the population served. Ability to assess medical co-morbidities and possible medical causes of psychiatric symptoms. Ability to work in a fast paced and, at times, highly stressful environment. Strong communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to meet varying needs. Good organizational and conflict resolution skills required. Excellent time management skills. Proven dependability. Ability to be objective in decision making. Ability to be proactive with independent learning needs and up to date with current competencies. Ability to recognize and manage the needs of seniors served. Ability to don and doff PPE as clinically indicated while providing direct client care. Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Able to deescalate tense situations and have strong conflict resolution skills. Charge nurse experience.Preferred Qualifications:Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
