LABORER –PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT LOCATION: MUNICIPALITY OF NORRISTOWN HOURLY WAGE: $22.69 PER HOUR HOURS: 7:00 AM TO 3:00 PM - MONDAY – FRIDAY Summer Hours: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM EMPLOYMENT: Full time, Non-exempt, Laborers Local 57 APPLY TO: [email protected] MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT. VALID PA DRIVER’S LICENSE: CDL CLASS A or obtain within 90 days of employment. Basic knowledge of hand tools and basic practice of labor operations.

Ability to follow written and/or oral directives. Ability to perform a wide variety of assignments often for prolonged periods of time and under adverse weather conditions. Ability to continuously stand and walk; lift and carry up to 80 lbs.; push and pull up to 40 lbs. frequently.

Successful background check required.

GENERAL DEFINITION: This is an entry level position which requires manual work usually of a repetitive nature. Work involves the use of manual tools on routine tasks and occasionally the use of smaller power operated tools.

Responsibilities range over a wide variety of municipal activities, including light and heavy physical labor, indoor and outdoor work, and working alone or in groups depending on the location and nature of the assignment.
