SUMMARY
As the Lead ERP Developer, you will lead and grow our JDE development function within the technology team, reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications. In this role, you'll manage a team of contract developers today, with the opportunity to build out an in-house team as the function grows, while working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and implement high-quality JDE EnterpriseOne applications and integrations that drive business value.
You will be both hands-on and a people leader in this role — actively developing, testing, and supporting JDE solutions while also guiding, mentoring, and managing the developers on your team. This dual technical and leadership position is ideal for a Lead ERP Developer with strong problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative mindset.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of JDE developers, including contractors and the future growth of an in-house development team.
Assign work, manage performance, and oversee team priorities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Balance hands-on technical contribution with leadership responsibilities, fostering quality, consistency, and team capability.
APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & SOLUTION DELIVERY
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
Design, develop, and support custom JDE reports, UBEs, programs, and system enhancements.
Implement and maintain solutions that meet organizational and departmental needs.
TECHNICAL GOVERNANCE & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Review code, system designs, and technical documentation to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation, including requirements, feasibility studies, designs,
and specifications.
Ensure consistency, quality, and long-term sustainability of development deliverables.
PROJECT DELIVERY, INTEGRATION & VENDOR MANAGEMENT
Prioritize and coordinate project workloads, development schedules, and resource allocation in line with business priorities.
Support system integrations between JDE and packaged or custom applications.
Manage Oracle JDE Help Desk escalations and oversee vendor relationships for CNC-related services, ensuring service levels and deliverables are achieved.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (2–3 year post-secondary program minimum).
15+ years of experience working as a JD Edwards Developer (EnterpriseOne 9.1 or newer).
3+ years of experience managing or leading a team of developers, including work assignment, mentoring, and performance management.
Hands-on experience with JDE Orchestrator Studio, BSSV, and related integration tools.
Expertise in SQL/SEQUEL for complex query development, data analysis, and issue resolution.
Strong knowledge of JDE Financials (GL/AP/AR) and Distribution (Sales and Purchasing) modules.
In-depth understanding of JDE table structures and data interrelationships.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices in change management.
Excellent communication skills — able to convey technical information clearly to both business and IT stakeholders.
Experience managing vendor relationships, including contract oversight,
service-level agreements, and vendor performance.
Creative, analytical, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude toward continuous learning and improvement.
Ability to explain complex ideas in simple, user-friendly language.
Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
WHAT WE OFFER
Compensation: $105,000 - $135,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
