Become a Legislative Clerk for the Islands Trust on Salt Spring Island, providing vital administrative support in local governance. Engage with Local Trust Committees and enhance legislative processes. In this role, you'll provide leadership and oversight on legislative and legal aspects for Local Trust Committees.
Reporting to the Regional Planning Manager, you'll manage Public Hearings, bylaw referrals, and statutory notifications. Collaborating with the planning team, you ensure compliance with the Local Government Act and Islands Trust Act while developing sound administrative practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Public Hearings and preparation processes
- Oversee bylaw referral and adoption
- Ensure statutory notifications meet regulations
- Process Islands Trust permits efficiently
- Develop Local Trust Committee meeting agendas Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent, 5 years related experience
- Solid Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in local government administration
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures
- Must qualify as Commissioner for Oaths Lead essential legislative functions while supporting local governance in beautiful Salt Spring Island.
