Role Description The Line Cook is an on-site role based at Lunitas Mexican Eatery in Gibsons, BC. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to specification, maintaining food quality and consistency, and following standardized recipes and portion controls. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and breaking down the line, prepping ingredients, cooking during service, plating dishes, and coordinating with other kitchen team members and servers.

The Line

Cook maintains a clean and organized workstation, adheres to food safety and sanitation standards, and helps with inventory rotation and minimizing waste. This role also supports the kitchen in busy periods, assists with special requests, and contributes to a positive,



respectful work environment.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess practical cooking skills, including experience working on a line in a restaurant kitchen and familiarity with Mexican or Latin-inspired cuisine.

Candidates should demonstrate strong kitchen organization and food safety skills, including proper sanitation practices, safe food handling, and attention to cleanliness.

Candidates should have time management and multitasking abilities, including working efficiently during peak service and prioritizing tasks under pressure.

Candidates should show teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with chefs, servers, and other line cooks in a rapid-paced environment.

Candidates should bring reliability and professionalism, including consistent punctuality, willingness to learn, and adherence to restaurant policies and standards.

Previous line cook or prep cook experience in a restaurant setting is strongly preferred; formal culinary training is an asset but not required.

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work evenings and weekends as needed.
