Canada Post is seeking Mail Service Couriers (Class 1, 2, or 3F) in Québec, QC on a temporary, on-call basis. As online shopping grows, we have opportunities for Class 3/D professional drivers with an appropriate provincial Air Brake Endorsement to be part of our energetic team.

As a temporary, on-call Mail Service Courier, you will join a team of drivers who are available to work locally on short notice. You will use a corporate vehicle to pick up and deliver mail and load/unload postal vehicles.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload postal vehicles while keeping mail and Canada Post property safe and secure at all times
- Collect, sort and deliver mail
- Operate portable communications devices
- Perform vehicle safety checks
- Complete documentation and maintain records
- Communicate with customers and the public
- Shuttle corporate delivery vehicles between parking location and loading platforms to facilitate pre-loading

Required Qualifications

- A valid Class 3/D driver's licence (or higher) with the appropriate provincial air brake endorsements




- A safe driving record for at least 3 years (recent driver's abstract or a commercial driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days will be required)
- The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
- The availability to work on short notice
- French language skills (French Essential)

Assets

- Experience in customer service
- Experience as professional driver in commercial delivery
- Experience driving a 5 ton truck or larger

Note: Only candidates holding a Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence with an air brake (F) endorsement will be considered.

Pay: $23.81 per hour. On-the-job training provided. Opportunities for permanent employment available.
