Drive the zero-accident culture on a major, long-term utility infrastructure project for one of Canada's leading construction companies.Health and Safety Advisor — Lead Safety on One of Quebec's Largest Infrastructure BuildsThis role may also be known as: HSE Advisor, Construction Safety Advisor, Site Health and Safety Coordinator, EHS Advisor.You won't be pushing paper from a trailer. You'll be the in office safety authority for one of Quebec's most significant infrastructure builds, embedded in a complex heavy civil environment involving marine work, lifting, excavation, and dozens of concurrent activities across multiple subcontractors. If you're the kind of safety professional who earns credibility by being on the ground rather than behind a desk, this project gives you the scale to prove it.The project itself is the real draw here. Given its size and duration, this isn't a short-term assignment or a one-and-done safety audit contract. It's a long-term seat with genuine stability and a clear runway to grow within a well-established health and safety organization, including mentoring newer team members as the site matures.What separates this role from a typical site safety posting is the scope. You'll work directly alongside project, engineering, and construction leadership, shaping how safety gets built into planning rather than bolted on afterward. The complexity of the site, marine work, heavy lifting, excavation, and constant subcontractor turnover, means no two days look the same, and the autonomy to make real calls in the field is built into the job.What You’ll Be DoingAct as the on-site health and safety expert,



supporting project management in implementing best practicesDeploy and ensure compliance with the HSE prevention program under CNESST and corporate standardsIdentify, analyze, and control critical risks tied to civil engineering, marine work, lifting, and excavationConduct daily field inspections, safety audits, and behavioral observations, with follow‑up on corrective actionsInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend sustainable preventative measuresLead health and safety committees, toolbox meetings, and training sessions for crews and subcontractorsCollaborate with project, engineering, and construction teams to build safety into work planningProduce health and safety reports, KPIs, and statistics for management and stakeholdersMentor junior members of the health and safety teamWhat We’re Looking ForExperience with civil construction projects, this is the top priority for this role2 to 5 years of health and safety experience on major construction projects, ideally civil engineering, heavy infrastructure, port, or industrialRelevant OHS certifications such as ASP Construction, first aid, lockout/tagout, and confined space trainingSound knowledge of Quebec's occupational health and safety legislation, CNESST, and standards for large-scale sitesStrong on-the-ground leadership and the ability to influence site teams and subcontractorsExcellent oral and written communication skillsBilingual, advanced French and functional EnglishCompensation & Work ModelBase salary of $95,000 to $130,000 CAD, commensurate with experience, plus an annual bonus of approximately 10 to 12 percent. On‑site role, with time split approximately 75% at the client site and 25% at the corporate office.Location & TravelMontreal / Contrecœur, Quebec.
