Role: IBM Maximo Developer – Maximo 7.6/BIRT/MAS 9

Role Type: Core Developer / Technical Consultant

Pay Rate: CAD 65-70/Hr.

Experience : 5–10+ years overall; 3+ years in Maximo development; Maximo 7.6 exposure required

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Developer with deep hands-on expertise in Maximo 7.6 customization, Automation Scripting, BIRT report development, workflow configuration, and Java-based extensions. The candidate will act as a core developer responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-grade Maximo solutions aligned to business requirements and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Maximo 7.6 Development & Customization

- Design, develop, and implement customizations in IBM Maximo 7.6.
- Customize Maximo applications, objects, attributes, relationships, domains, lookups, dialogs, and presentation XML using Application Designer and Database Configuration.
- Develop Automation Scripts using Jython/Python for validations, business rules, approvals, integrations, and process automation.
- Build and maintain Java customizations including MBO extensions, field classes, custom business logic, and user exits where applicable.
- Configure and support workflows, escalations, actions, communication templates, cron tasks, and security groups.
- Package, migrate, and deploy configurations and customizations across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.

BIRT Report Development

- Design, develop, enhance, and troubleshoot BIRT reports for Maximo 7.6.
- Create complex SQL datasets, report parameters, scripted datasets, sub-reports, charts, grouping, and conditional formatting.
- Develop operational, KPI, printable, compliance,



and management reports based on business needs.
- Optimize report queries and layouts to improve performance, readability, and usability.
- Deploy, test, and maintain BIRT reports across environments following release and migration standards.

Integration & Technical Support

- Develop and support integrations using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST APIs, SOAP web services, XML, JSON, and object structures.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Maximo 7.6, integrations, reports, and custom components.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, testers, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Support defect resolution, root cause analysis, performance tuning, unit testing, SIT, UAT, production deployment, and post-go-live support.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in IBM Maximo technical development and implementation/support projects.
- Hands-on experience in Maximo 7.6 is required.
- Solid practical experience in Maximo customization, BIRT report development, SQL, automation scripting, and integrations.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs and working solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- IBM Maximo / MAS certification or relevant technical certification.
- Experience in asset-intensive industries such as manufacturing, utilities, transportation, railroad, oil & gas,



or facilities management.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and global delivery models.

- Ensure the Delivery from Maximo 7.6 are upward compatible in MAS 9.
- Improve automation, usability, reporting accuracy, and system performance for business users.
- Ensure custom components are secure, maintainable, scalable, and aligned to coding standards.
- Support smooth deployments, issue resolution, and knowledge transfer across project phases.
