You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges.The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading the Modular Performance Solutions sourcing activities for all commodities while working collaboratively with Category Managers and other Commodity Managers within the Global Category Sourcing division.Key AccountabilitiesLead sourcing related activities such as supplier investigation, supplier selection/award, major raw material cost rolls/updating, material master maintenance, supplier documentation maintenance & due diligence requirementsManage projects/initiatives from inception to delivery, creating and managing against detailed project plans/schedulesLead supplier meetings & participate in relevant project meetings to help define project scope and objectivesDevelop category‑specific/project costing models & sourcing strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders, with focused engagement with the Proposal teamsLead global cost reduction initiatives, conduct regular cost benchmarking to ensure cost competitiveness and develop supply risk mitigation strategiesRegularly review sourcing policies, procedures and workflows to ensure up‑to‑date document version and adherence to processesEnsure full compliance to governance and best practices as it relates to sourcing, supplier selection, cost evaluation, cost change approvals,
and supplier selection processesManage supplier performance by engaging with cross‑functional business partners to drive supplier performance improvement initiativesParticipate in and support new product development initiatives by evaluating new suppliers and supplier capabilities for go‑to‑market strategiesUnderstand plant operations and provide critical supply solutions as neededWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent working experienceCollege Diploma in Supply Chain Management considered an assetSupply Chain Management Certification (SCMP), Institute for Supply Management (ISM) certification, or Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) certification considered a solid assetMinimum eight years’ experience in procurement and category in industrial/ manufacturing sectorsMinimum five years’ experience in global sourcing and category managementDirect experience with high‑impact commodities with deep understanding of raw metal alloys, steel fabrications, instrumentation & controls, pumps, valves and 3rd party contract manufacturing is preferredDemonstrated experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams in multi‑site settings, including an international supply chain environmentHands‑on experience developing and implementing best‑practices specific to cost management, supplier management, and risk mitigationStrong understanding and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically in an industrial manufacturing settingAbility to work well independently as part of a team within a time‑sensitive environmentExceptional data analytic capabilitiesHigh‑level proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteSelf‑motivated to achieve annual goals and objectivesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and proven people‑management experienceWhy Armstrong Fluid Technology?
