As Technical Manager, Operations you will lead operations and budget management, service delivery, project management, client relationships, health & safety, emergency preparedness and business continuity for an assigned portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, coach and develop team members.
- Recommend compensation adjustments, manage performance and conduct objective reviews.
- Support talent acquisition and retention initiatives.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee service delivery for client accounts or a complex single client.
- Ensure KPI objectives are met and develop service delivery regimes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated issues.
- Implement efficiency improvements and sustainable practices.
Service Delivery Management
- Meet contractual obligations and monitor performance against metrics.
- Provide written and oral reports to clients and senior management.
- Maintain on‑call coverage and ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
- Act as focal point for service delivery escalations.
Risk Management and Business Continuity
- Develop and execute emergency preparedness, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Coordinate incident management requirements with stakeholders.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Collaborate with HSE team to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Monitor and enforce safe delivery of work in all locations.
Project Management
- Develop and execute project plans for assigned initiatives.
- Oversee delivery and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
- Participate in company‑wide projects as needed.
Budget Management
- Prepare and monitor budgets for service delivery teams.
- Liaise with Finance to review and approve expenditures.
Regulatory Compliance and Procurement
- Maintain compliance documentation and collaborate with Procurement to source vendors.
- Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies.
Qualifications
- Community college diploma, trade school or technical bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of direct HVAC work experience.
- Solid service delivery and client obligations management skills.
- Experience in emergency preparedness and business continuity.
- Intermediate budget management proficiency.
- Excellent communication, influence, negotiation and written communication skills.
- Proven people leadership and client service orientation.
- Project delivery experience and continuous improvement mindset.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of contact centre service best practices.
- Understanding of building management for repair requests.
- Preferred: Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic – 313A (Commercial/Industrial) or PMP certification.
Compensation
This is a regular, full‑time position with a salary range of $96,322 – $120,402 per annum, based on qualifications, experience and performance.
