FKA is hiring a full-time Media Planner and Buyer in Edmonton with deep expertise in traditional media planning and buying to join our dynamic media team, which manages over $20 million in media annually. We’re looking for a results-driven media professional who thrives in fast-paced, client-facing environments and brings a passion for delivering performance-driven media strategies across TV, radio, print, and out-of-home.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, executing and optimizing integrated media plans while collaborating closely with internal teams and clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of integrated media plans across traditional channels, including TV, radio, print and out-of-home.
- Evaluate media alternatives and provide data-backed recommendations to achieve client objectives.
- Negotiate and procure media with vendors, building and maintaining strong industry relationships.
- Collaborate with account managers and creative teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with client goals and audiences.
- Monitor media performance and optimize campaigns to deliver maximum impact within budget.
- Present media strategies, plans and performance results to clients in a transparent, professional, and confident manner.
- Support integrated campaigns by leveraging familiarity with digital platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, and Google Analytics.
- Stay up to date on media trends,
industry tools and emerging opportunities to bring new ideas forward.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in traditional media planning and buying across multiple clients and sectors.
- Strong knowledge of media evaluation, negotiation, and procurement best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage media budgets, optimize performance, and build vendor relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly present strategies and insights to both internal teams and clients.
- Familiarity with digital media platforms is an asset, particularly in support of integrated campaigns.
- Strong project management and time management skills; able to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines.
The salary range for this position is $66,100 – $85,900 depending on experience.
