The role of the Transfusion Medicine Medical Laboratory Assistant involves blood product handling and preparation, receiving of samples, within scope quality assurance practices, loading of analyzers and equipment maintenance, inventory of blood products, reinfusion of Stem cell and other assistant duties within scope. Communication with other healthcare professionals related to Transfusion Medicine practices.

- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of the Meditech Blood Bank Module
- Current experience with blood product handling and preparation and transfusion practices

Experience with blood procurement and Stem Cell reinfusions an asset

Experience with CBS lookback/traceback process
- Valuable communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Data entry skills preferred
