Norfolk General Hospital is located at Simcoe, ON. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Medical laboratory technologist. We are in search of a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The selected applicant will be required to join and take their responsibilities at the earliest. The open positions are for Permanent employment or Full time job. The timings of shifts may be Weekend and Shift.

Salary: $36.00 to $49.21 hourly (To be negotiated) / 75 hours bi-weekly

Location: Simcoe, ON

- The candidate will be responsible for collecting blood, tissue, or other samples from patients.
- The candidate must conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids.
- The candidate will be responsible for documenting observations on patient specimens.
- The candidate must examine the results of the tests.
- The candidate will be responsible for logging patient samples and preparing them for testing.
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- The candidate must establish procedures for specimen analysis and medical laboratory experiments.
- The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the medical laboratory and laboratory equipment.
- The candidate must perform blood group, type, and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes.
- The candidate must conduct a quality control assessment of testing techniques.




- The candidate will be responsible for setting up medical laboratory equipment.

Job Requirements

- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
- Candidate having experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification.

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge

- The candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.

Area of specialization

- The candidate must be knowledgeable about General medical technology, Clinical chemistry or biochemistry, Biochemistry, Clinical microbiology, Hematology, Histotechnology, and Microbiology.
