About the Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected Toronto litigation boutique with an outstanding reputation and a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture. As the firm continues to grow, they are looking to add a senior litigator who can bring strong courtroom experience, mentor junior lawyers, and help expand the firm's litigation capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who enjoys handling sophisticated disputes, values autonomy, and wants to play an key role in the continued growth of a successful practice.

The Role

While employment litigation forms a significant part of the firm's work, many matters evolve into broader commercial and civil litigation. Files regularly involve contractual disputes, shareholder issues, fiduciary obligations, restrictive covenants, injunctions, fraud allegations, and other complex business disputes.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle challenging litigation files from start to finish while also serving as a mentor to junior lawyers as they continue to develop into well-rounded litigators.

Responsibilities

- Manage a sophisticated litigation practice from inception through resolution, including trial where appropriate.
- Handle discoveries, motions, mediations, arbitrations and court appearances.
- Develop litigation strategy and provide practical legal advice to clients.
- Work collaboratively with partners and other senior lawyers on complex matters.
- Mentor junior associates and assist with their professional development.
- Build and strengthen long-term client relationships.
- Participate in business development and help grow the firm's litigation practice.

What We're Looking For





- Approximately 7–10 years of litigation experience (exceptional candidates outside this range will also be considered).
- Strong advocacy and courtroom experience.
- A broad litigation background rather than experience limited to one niche area.
- Confidence managing complex files independently.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- A practical, business-minded approach to litigation.
- A genuine interest in mentoring junior lawyers.
- Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
