Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in client care, with experience in pediatrics supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions that enhance functional independence.
The Occupational
Therapist will play a vital role in supporting our clients’ growth and well-being through expert therapeutic services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs, goals, and medical conditions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for clients.
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies for daily living activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment progress, and clinical notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in case management activities to monitor client progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Active General Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Solid working knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and sensory processing approaches.
- Outstanding interpersonal, family coaching, and clinical communication skills.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G) and access to a reliable vehicle for community visits.
