About the role We seek a highly organized, safety‑conscious and experienced logistics and transportation professional to oversee the management and performance of our Autonomous Vehicle Operators (truck drivers) and local vehicle fleet. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of vehicles on a complex route network, support of our customer deliveries and training / testing of our autonomous class 3-7 box trucks. You will report to the Head of Operations and partner with other Operations Supervisors in your region as well as technical, mechanical, human resources, commercial, and safety & compliance professionals.
In this role,
you will uphold exceptional safety standards, optimize driver schedules, manage truck readiness and maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance within the fleet. This role is onsite five days per week in Greater Toronto Area, Canada. What you’ll do - Driver Hiring & Onboarding: Recruit, train, and onboard qualified drivers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Driver Supervision: Conduct ride‑alongs, performance evaluations, and coaching to promote safety and service excellence.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce Transport Canada, provincial (MTO/NSC), and internal safety policies; maintain driver qualifications, training, and testing programs.
- Fleet Maintenance Coordination: Schedule maintenance and repairs, track logs, inspections, and registrations, and ensure vehicle readiness.
- Route Scheduling: Plan daily routes, manage driver schedules, reduce overtime, and improve efficiency.
- Customer Support: Maintain strong relationships with customers, address service issues, and ensure delivery targets are met.
- Problem Solving: Address real‑time logistical issues and provide hands‑on operational support.
- Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs and operational data to identify areas for improvement. What we’re looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation,
or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in transportation or fleet operations with a focus on driver supervision.
- Strong understanding of Canadian transportation regulations (NSC, MTO) and safety protocols.
- Experience with route planning tools and fleet management systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid Canadian commercial driver’s license (Class 1, Class 3, or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable operating Class 3–6 vehicles and working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational needs outside of scheduled shifts.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, and MVR (driver’s abstract).
