The successful candidate will join the Client Agreements and Intellectual Property Branch, focusing on developing IP protection strategies and managing licensing agreements. A solid background in Science or Engineering, along with experience in patent prosecution, is essential for success in this role. Interact with researchers and contribute to effective IP strategies while navigating various legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

- File and manage formal and provisional patent applications
- Guide researchers in IP protection and cost management
- Negotiate licensing and research agreements
- Oversee contracts with external patent agents
- Promote IP awareness initiatives within NRC

Requirements:

- Degree in Science or Engineering is required
- 2-6 years of relevant IP experience
- Registration as a Canadian Patent Agent
- Understanding of North American IP laws and procedures
- Secret security clearance required
